Today I received the worst birchbox ever. I watched the
spoiler video by Birchbox on youtube the other day, and they mentioned there
would be a beauty blender sponge. It turned out to be a complete fail. I just
thought that Birchbox was back to the game due to all the competition, but it
makes me reconsider my subscription.
As
much as I love the stila eye liner from last month, this one is so
disappointing.

I think your might have been even worse than mine. It's crappy that Birchbox only put 20 dollar sponges in a small percentage of the boxes... not cool.

ReplyDeleteI feel like they keep playing tricks. They give out good valued boxes once in a while and the rest are really bad. I just want to get unsubscribed for good.

ReplyDeleteI got my February box on Friday and was really disappointed too. I think I'm going to cancel, and I completely agree that it doesn't seem fair that they put the really nice items only into some boxes!

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to cancel for a while now and then I got last months box. It was great but seeing some of the current boxes, I'm a little disappointed. AND I have yet to see anyone with a beauty blender!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, I see what you mean. I would be really annoyed if I got this as my Birchbox! I cancelled my subscription a few months ago because all I was getting was skincare items. I hope that next month is better for you!
ReplyDeleteWow. Your box does suck. I just opened mine - I was so excited because I had visions of Valentine's Day items - think Birchbox pink gloss (loved that one!). Mine was similar to yours, only I got a sample of Jouer tinted moisturizer (teeeeeny tiny sample), some toxic sounding powder that is supposed to magically exfoliate my face, and the ridiculous looking eye liner stick-ons (looks like a thin address label with scary eyebrow shapes on them). Oh, and don't forget the hot pink mushy egg thing that some people apparently use to apply make up (which I can't use because I use mineral foundation) and a heart-shaped nail file. $10 worth of samples? Please. They made bank on this one, and I got sad samples.
ReplyDeleteI usually love their makeup samples and face care products, and I typically like (or can appreciate) the fragrances. I was downright angry when I got the orange vitamin c energy drink powder (really!?!?) a few weeks ago, and things like this face sponge really don't thrill me either. A few more boxes like this and I'll be canceling. $120 per year will get quite a bit at the makeup counter if you spend it right. I'd rather have a few things that I really like rather than boxes full of things I don't want at all.
Can't agree more! I got the Vitamin C Powder as well a few boxes back which was absolutely ridiculous. I was really into birchbox, but I'm so over it now.
ReplyDeletei just got my first one today. i was so excited cause i had seen a couple of boxes on other peoples blogs and they were amazing. i got a tiny juicy coutoure perfume (i got the same one free at the carsons perfume counter before), a piece of chocolate (i dont even like chocolate, so wasted on me) the eye rock (which i think looks amazing but i probably will suck at putting them on) that little g-1 that you got and something else. it wasnt memorable. should i hold on hope for a better box next month or just give up?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I don't think it's worth holding on to. That's what I did for the past 9 months, wishing for something good in my box. It turned out to be quite disappointing. There were a few nice samples, but seriously with all that money I could definitely get full size products.
